Kāore te kūmara e kōrero mō tōna ake reo, engari
While the kumara doesn’t speak of its sweetness, GHA is all about celebrating Māori success. Our heartfelt congratulations are extended to Roimata Ah Sam, GHA Accounting Manager who placed top 5 in New Zealand in her final Chartered Accountancy Capstone examination.
To provide some context to the significance of Roimata’s achievement, of the 32,000 New Zealand members within the accounting profession, just 860 are Māori. Pictured with Roimata below is Dianne Reeve, Relationship Manager from CA ANZ who recently paid a special visit to the GHA Centre in July to celebrate alongside our team. In true Roimata style, she reflected on her commitment to supporting more Māori into careers in accounting and said:
“Today’s celebration was not about me, the hope is this recognition inspires other Māori accountants on their pathway to the CA qualification.
There are five wāhine at GHA who are currently on the pathway to becoming chartered accountants. The real celebration is in seeing each of you dedicated to attaining this goal.
The more we do to acquire knowledge, the better equipped we are to serve our hāpori Māori.”
Tika tāu e te tuahine – kei runga noa atu koe!
